Paintings

Here are a couple of paintings I did this summer, showing my progression. They're both 6"x6".

Probably should have stopped somewhere between stage 2 and stage 3.

Portfolio 4: Scenes

And finally, scenes. By the way, except for the three pen & ink drawings in a previous blog, everything was created in Photoshop. I usually start with pencil on paper, and quickly go over to Photoshop.
I hope you enjoyed looking at the work. As you can see, I have an affinity for rivets, bat wings, cars with fins and old radio tubes.
Cheers

This was done from a photo I took of the Burrard Bridge in
Vancouver, B.C., shot from the Granville Island Bridge.

Portfolio 3: Props

Props are anything not a character or background.

Portfolio 2: More characters

All of the illustrations, except the 'Brainchild', the three pen & inks and a couple of skateboarders posted earlier, were created within the last six months.

Portfolio 1: Characters

As I stumble through the blogosphere, my portfolio should appear within the next few blogs. This will be a slightly pared-down version of the printed piece. In putting this book together, I drew a variety of characters, props and scenes that I thought would be fun to draw and would also showcase my drawing style. I like playing with straight and curved lines, pushing the style to see what I can get away with and having a strong silhouette.
The musicians are the amazing Ethyl and the Regulars, one of Denver's best rockabilly bands. Here 'tis:

The cover of my book

This is the cover of a portfolio I'm having made into a book to send to some animation studios. I'll post most of the portfolio illustrations here. I'm looking for a gig as a concept artist – character, prop and scene design. Fingers are crossed.
